![]() ![]() Since Flying Ninja Cat's base stats are really low, Defense Buff and Attack Buff won't improve her much and Target Black is only useful with Dodge Attack. Move Speed Up helps her out a lot too, as it allows meatshields to be generally more effective and to clog the enemy limit less. Overall, this form's only purpose is making Talents available for Ninja Cat.įlying Ninja Cat's usage as a meatshield is improved dramatically by her Dodge Attack talent as, with it, Flying Ninja Cat goes from being little more than a more expensive Mohawk Cat in practice to a unit who can hold off decently well against even the strongest Red enemies. Thus, regardless of the minor improvements, Flying Ninja Cat still has such low health that, even against Reds, her use is not recommended at all, rendering her a Combo-slave and nothing else. At the very least, however, her cost becomes closer to that of a unit that is expected to die in one hit, but it is still too high. ![]() On top of the low speed, she is also easily outclassed by Maximum the Fighter in terms of health and damage against Red enemies. Since her stats are unsalvageable by the time this form is unlocked, all that matters is her quality as a disposable meatshield, which is decreased by the slower speed. This isn't helped by the release of Mighty Deth-Troy-R which provides the same boost for half the slots for players lucky enough to own it.įlying Ninja Cat becomes slower and cheaper. Unfortunately, even this becomes mostly obsolete once 2 Sm Attack combos are obtained, as they provide a 20% boost to attack instead of just 15% and their units are only a little less accessible ( Tiny Ancient Hunt and Brave Cutter). Though she becomes obsolete for actual use, Ninja Cat is also part of the Cool Japan Cat Combo, which provides a 15% attack boost to all your units this is a very useful Combo and is worth bringing into many stages. And that is to say nothing about the more efficient anti-red specialists, such as Courier and Elemental Duelist. It is recommended to buy her as early as possible, as she alone can carry through the whole first, second and the early portion of the third chapter, but her use rapidly declines afterwards, quickly becoming outclassed by Dark Cat (which can upgrade to + levels) and Crazed Axe Cat, two cats that aren't even very strong to begin with. Ninja Cat is extremely potent early on, having straight-up better stats than Axe Cat. In order to classify Cat Units, see here Strategy/Usage ![]()

![]() Meanwhile, I get seven and my hand is the best of three of those.Ģ) I have not played Gunslingers and Gamblers. Imagine if we're playing poker and you only get three cards. You may have a similar effect if players are rolling a variable number of dice. You can just count the number of "dice sides" that each side has and confidently bet on the stronger contender. General thoughts, advice, intuitions? Things worth considering when using such a dice mechanic?ġ) Dogs in the Vineyard does a watered down version of this.Am I doomed to have my system feel Wild West themed with poker-esque mechanics? How fatally linked are these two things?.Has anyone played or GM'd Gunslingers & Gamblers (or any others that use poker dice)? How was your experience? Were Difficulties and modifiers easy to formulate and justify to inquisitive players?.Are there any other games you can think of that use this dice mechanic well, or exceptionally poorly?.I understand you may not feel like you have much context to comment on the matter. Most reviews I've read convey a problem arises for people whom haven't played poker, and are unfamiliar with the hands. It's Western Themed, but I'm making a more genre-agnostic dice system at the moment. I did a little research, and found Gunslingers & Gamblers (Jonathan Clarke, FJGaming) which has used something much like this to good reviews. It's essentially Yahtzee, for those familiar. All rolls are contested, and for one player to win over another, they must roll a better "hand," if that makes sense. The alternative I'm considering is still 3d6, but uses poker hands as inspiration. Players spend their bets to increase number of dice, re-roll their dice, improve the effectiveness of an action, and so forth. Their bets are removed from the stats, and the stats recover. The idea for the system is Narrative Poker, where the player's stats are combined into stacks of chips, and they bet to improve their results. I'm currently using a 3d6 sum dice system for a prototype I'm working on, but I don't think it contributes to the overall design of the game system. ![]() ![]() ![]() YouTube will probably start recommending you other Japanese channels too, so you can fall deeper into the rabbit hole. Without all those slime ASMR videos you're subscribed to on your main account, I bet you'll be even more focused on Japanese. In fact, you might even want to make a separate YouTube account that's only subscribed to Japanese learning channels. And following just one playlist at a time helped keep me from feeling disorganized and overwhelmed with options. I used this strategy for the N2, and it worked pretty well! Since I knew I only had to spare about ten to twenty minutes a day, it wasn't too hard to keep up the habit. For example, tell yourself you'll watch two videos a day from Miku Real Japanese's grammar playlist, and stick to it. Don't stop at the home page or browse your subscriptions, no matter how tantalizing they are! You can check those out after you study, not during.Īlternatively, once you find a channel you really like, you could dedicate yourself to finishing one pre-existing playlist of that creator's videos. It's true, staying focused can be a challenge! But here are some tips to hopefully give yourself your best fighting chance. They'll be categorized based on the language in which they're primarily taught, English or Japanese. But if you'd like to skip that part, go ahead and jump straight to Ian's and my recommendations for the best YouTube channels for beginners. In this article, I'll give you some advice on how to learn Japanese grammar on YouTube effectively, and whether you should watch videos in your native language or Japanese. I only discovered Japanese grammar channels when I was studying for the N2, and I wish I'd taken advantage of them sooner! So if you're curious, there are plenty of angelic YouTube sensei waiting to explain particles and sentence structure to you in a way that fits your learning style. There's a treasure trove of channels teaching Japanese, generously offering those invaluable, hard-to-grasp-on-your-own grammar explanations for free. Since the Mixtrack Quad is a standard MIDI device, there’s no reason why TRAKTOR PRO (or any other software for that matter) shouldn’t work perfectly. You can download a free demo version and test it with your hardware. Surprisingly, it is also an absolute bargain compared to VirtualDJ at only 79 Euros. ![]() TRAKTOR PRO is probably the leading DJ software package, at least amongst professionals. However, every cloud has a silver lining, as this led me to evaluate TRAKTOR PRO 2… TRAKTOR PRO 2 To The Rescue Considering the full version of VirtualDJ costs around $300, it seems really poor that it still has such a basic bug. As a software engineer, I find it really irritating to see that a bug was reported in the official VirtualDJ forums back in January 2012 but there has been no comment or response from the manufacturer and no fix. Once you get over the initial shock of being deafened, it just becomes plain irritating to have to take off your headphones every time you want to play a sample. It doesn’t matter how you set the “Cue Gain” (or “Master Gain” for that matter), samples are played back through the headphones at maximum volume. There is a known issue with sample playback volume in both the LE and full editions of VirtualDJ. If I hadn’t hit an annoying problem within half an hour of first using it, I probably would have been happy enough to stick with it… On the plus side, this software is very nicely integrated with the Mixtrack Quad hardware, and on the surface is a very reasonable software package. Unfortunately, since Serato DJ Intro does not support 4 channels, Numark needed to supply alternative free software with the Mixtrack Quad, so they went with VirtualDJ LE. The Mixtrack Pro II is bundled with free Serato DJ Intro software, which is by all accounts an excellent tool and can be easily upgraded to the full Serato DJ package for a reasonable fee. For more details about the controller itself, please see the excellent Digital DJ Tips review. ![]() Although clearly aimed at the home DJ, it is perfect for learning how to DJ and more than up to the job for house parties and small venues. The Mixtrack Quad currently retails for around £210 and represents fantastic value for money. Numark has been producing innovative DJ equipment for 40 years, so they clearly know what they’re doing and have an enviable track record for producing both pro and consumer kit. With upgraded platters and touch-sensitive backlit drum pads, the Mixtrack Pro II is widely regarded as the current standard for entry level DJ controllers, so the Mixtrack Quad comes from an excellent pedigree. It is essentially a 4 channel version of the Numark Mixtrack Pro II, which is itself the second version of the infamous Mixtrack Pro, reportedly the world’s best selling digital DJ controller. This map was made in Traktor Pro 2.10.2, but should work fine in 2.6+.The Numark Mixtrack Quad is a 4 channel digital DJ controller with a built-in audio I/O device that was released in Spring 2013 and marketed as the only controller in its class and price range that offers 4 channel capabilities. The Touch Strips can also be used to seek a track if used in combination with the Shift button. You can navigate in yours favorites by pressing SHIFT and rolling the browser button. I adjusted them to have a more 'pumping' behavior. For instance, you can change from 128.15 to 128.16 easily. If the track is stopped, the Jog Wheels can be used to seek the track (regardless of the Wheel button state) and if you hold the Shift button with the track stopped you can seek the track more accurately, which is great for setting cue points and beatgrids. You can disable/enable the Scratch function by pressing the Wheel button. The Jog Wheels works as Scratch when touched on the top and works as bend if touched on the borders. If the 'Auto ON' is off, you can toggle the FX by pressing the FX# button as well (that's the normal behavior and the default). Then, the FX will be ON as long you touch the Touch Strip and will turn OFF right after your finger stops touching the Strip. ![]() When you use Shift + FX# button, you activate the 'Auto ON' function, and the FX button starts to blink to indicate that. I’m sorry, you’re not going to get Xcode on anything else. The first rule of iOS development is that you need a Mac. I want to give you an overview of what the platform is like, what kind of hurdles you’ll run into, and how it relates to Android. I’m not going to get super coding specific. There are a lot of great tutorials out there. Then you can take those words and learn more about iOS. My goal for today is to give you some words. I have this thing I’m trying to search for it I can’t find anything and they go to Google and type in the words that magically make the information appear. And when I have had mentors at work or in other spaces, they have provided me with that vocabulary. I’m trying to search on Stack Overflow and the internet, but I don’t know the words to use. The hardest part that I find when learning something new is not having the vocabulary I need to find the information.
